About Me

I am currently a Broadcast Journalism major with minors in both Sociology and International Affairs.  I was born and raised in Pittsford, NY, a suburb right outside of Rochester.  It's technically considered Upstate New York, but I promise its not the part with all the cows!  I have had a passion for Broadcast Journalism from a young age.  I completed my first intership as a Junior in highschool and since then I have been hooked into the Communications industry.

Through my experiences I have gained many valuable skills that will help me to better succeed in the Broadcast Journalism industry.  Not only have I learned how to work efficiently in a newsroom setting, but I have also become accustomed to the fast pace that comes along with the job.  I have gained confidence in my work through practice and through the help of reporters who have mentored me.  It is my goal to one day move to New York City and pursue a career in the Broadcast industry.

Aside from this, I am a member of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma.  Through this, I have made life-long friendships and have been exposed to opportunities to help others in a way I never would have imagined.  One example is through my sorority's involvement in Penn State Dance Marathon, otherwise known as THON.  THON is a 46 hour dance marathon that helps raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer.  It's something that I've been involved with since Freshman year and that I hold dear to my heart.
